Shift work
A safety net that fits shift work
When you sleep while everyone else is awake, a quiet afternoon is normal for you. Quietbeat lets you tell it when you sleep, so your daytime rest never worries anyone.
Set it up around your sleep
- Quiet hours for your sleep. Sleeping from 9 AM to 5 PM? Set those as quiet hours. Your regular check never starts during them; it waits until they end.
- A check window with room. The standard window is 24 hours. With Plus you can choose 12, 36 or 48 hours, if your days off look very different from your work days.
- Your “morning” check, at your morning. The morning check (Plus) runs at any time you choose, for example 5 PM. If Quietbeat has seen no sign of you in the hours before, it asks if you're okay.
- Pause when your routine changes. Traveling between shifts or away for a few days? Pause Quietbeat for up to 30 days.
Rotating shifts
Smart checks learn a steady rhythm over about two weeks. If your shifts rotate every week, keep smart checks off and rely on your check window and quiet hours, and update your quiet hours when your schedule changes. Quietbeat always asks you first, so a check at an odd time costs you one tap, not a worried phone call.
The way home after a late shift
Trip mode (Plus) works for the drive or walk home too: “If I'm not back by 2 AM, start a check.” End the trip when you get in. If you haven't by then, Quietbeat asks you first, then lets your contacts know, with the note you added.
Questions
Will Quietbeat wake me up during the day?
Not with a regular check: it never starts during your quiet hours. Set the morning check for after you usually wake up.
What if I fall asleep at an unusual time?
Quietbeat only asks when there's been no sign of activity for longer than your check window. Even then it asks you first and sends a reminder before telling anyone. A longer window gives you more room.
Does Quietbeat know where I work?
No. Quietbeat doesn't track location. It only learns when activity happened.
